Tissue Pumpkin Craft

Messy play is SO IMPORTANT for your child’s development! This is such a fun way to blend sensory play with art and creativity! Try out this tissue pumpkin craft for decorative development boosting fall fun!

Materials:

  • White Paper
  • Construction Paper or Cardstock *(Preferred)
  • Scissors
  • Tissue Paper
  • Glue mixture (½ liquid glue ½ water)
  • Spray bottle
  • Paint Brush

Step 1:

Start by drawing your pumpkin onto the white paper. This is a great opportunity to practice drawing circles and curved shapes!

Step 2:

Cut the tissue paper into small pieces. You can use rainbow paper or one color. Whatever you prefer! Set aside

Step 3:

You can draw your own pumpkin or grab the template provided and cut it out.

Step 4:

Glue the cut out pumpkin onto the cardstock or construction paper. It’s important to let this dry a bit before moving on to the next step.

Step 5:

While drying, mix the glue and water together in a spray bottle

Step 6:

Spray a small amount onto the pumpkin and spread around with the paintbrush,

Step 7:

Take a piece of tissue paper and put it onto the pumpkin.  Use the paintbrush to paint the top of the tissue in glue.  Continue adding tissue until the pumpkin is covered.

Step 8:

Set aside to dry. Once completely dry, cut out the pumpkin and use it to decorate your house!
